About Us

In Remembrance
Millard Fuller
(1935-2009)

It was with great sadness and heavy hearts that we received the news that Millard Fuller passed away Tuesday morning. His incredible vision to eliminate poverty housing has affected hundred’s of thousands of families and millions of volunteers across the world.

The Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers of Blount County Habitat for Humanity extend our deepest prayers to Linda, the entire Fuller family, the staff of The Fuller Center for Housing and Habitat for Humanity International, and all those who knew and loved him. We join with the entire Habitat family in our shared grief.

Millard Fuller’s impact on Blount County has led to more than 90 families being placed in better living conditions. His affect on those that have volunteered is immeasurable.

Blount County Habitat for Humanity is an independent, nonprofit, Christian housing ministry. We have served Blount County since 1992 as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International.    Each year we build simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with those in need. As an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International we are an independent grassroots organization and rely on local donations to provide these opportunities for members of our community. Our mission is made possible through the support from individuals, churches, businesses, and other groups.  Volunteers and the future homeowners provide the labor for building these homes.
