Blount County Habitat Celebrates 15 Years of Service to our Community! Blount County Habitat was founded in 1992 by Orville Farber, Herb Meyer, Randall Pierce, and Bernie Starner as an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. This year, Blount County Habitat celebrates 15 years of building homes, improving lives, and forming better communities in Blount County.
We are recognizing this milestone through a special anniversary build that broke ground in the middle of September. The home is located at 142 West Bell Street, Alcoa, TN 37701. The Habitat Staff, Board of Directors, and partner families offer a special thanks to the Alcoa Inc. Foundation and Denso Manufacturing Tennessee, Inc. for sponsoring in part this home.
Blount County Habitat for Humanity is very fortunate to have started with such a strong foundation. Each year Habitat continues to grow and build upon the fundamental belief that everyone deserves a safe decent place to call home.
Since 1992 Blount County Habitat has: ~ built 86 homes ~ provided simple decent shelter to 190 children
