Construction Siteget Involved in the construction phase of a Habitat Home!

As a volunteer at the Construction Site you can expect to use and learn many construction skills that make an empty lot become the dream home for many of our partner families. Different tasks include framing, roofing, putting up drywall, painting, landscaping and more! All you need is to be 16 yrs of age or older, have a volunteer form filed at our office and possess a positive attitude.

ReStore - get Involved in the retail part of Blount County Habitat for Humanity!

As a volunteer at the ReStore, you can expect to use and learn many retail business skills that make it possible to manage our in-kind donations. Different tasks include sorting, unloading donations, picking up donations, overall maintenance of our facility and more. Be part of the Blount Habitat for Humanity ReStore success!!! Professional Building - get Involved in the office part of Blount County Habitat for Humanity!

As a volunteer at the Professional Building, you can expect to use and learn office skills that make it possible to be a successful non-profit organization. Different tasks include answering phones, greeting visitors, sorting mail and more. Volunteer schedule and tasks vary depending on time of the year and current events. Special Events - get Involved in our Special Events by volunteering and/or by participating!

As a volunteer in our Special Events, you can help out with a wide range of skills that makes our fundraisers and other events a sucess. Our Special Events include Home Dedications, our yearly Bass Tournament, Christmas Wrap, and more. All events can best be tracked in our public Facebook Page.

 

Youth Involvement - get Involved by providing us your Ideas and Imagination!!!

As a young volunteer for Blount County Habitat for Humanity you are restricted from helping at the job site/home store etc. for safety reasons, however, below are some suggestions on how you can play a very important role in the organization. Remember these are suggestions that can keep on growing... if you have an idea we would love to hear it!

Collect empty aluminum cans and take them  to Spectra Recycling Center

Organize a penny drive at your school, church, etc.

Construct small items like bird houses, key hooks, etc and sell for a fundraiser or give to homeowners

Make welcome home signs for the homeowners

Organize and serve lunch or snacks for our construction volunteers (coordinate with our construction coordinator)

Collect old T-shirts and cut up for painting rags for our painting volunteers

Grow and donate indoor or outdoor plants to give to homeowners

Raise awareness at your school and community about the work of Blount County Habitat for Humanity
